The Nerdwriter Discusses the Concept of Video Games Being Accepted as a Unique Form of Art
In this video, New York City video blogger and web producer Evan Puschak (a.k.a. “The Nerdwriter“) discusses the concept of video games (old and new) being accepted as a unique form of art. Evan has since then taken the discussion to reddit for further analysis.
Oh god this question is SO interesting! Even after making this video my mind is still going back and forth on the question. I can sense myself trying to hold onto the the notion that art requires intention by the artist, intention that can be sussed out and not significantly changed by the audience — but maybe video games are an extreme version of the opposite, & reveal the futility in that.
